SimpleTiger offers SEO to businesses in the Atlanta, GA area. Our process is streamlined for consulting so we can save money and provide that discount over to our customers.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I basically had to have the website so that prospects can rest assured that my business is legitimate and I know how to do what I am offering to them.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Back in 2003, it was actually my hobby site jcsmithphoto.com. Its still up today!
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our process is simple and we like to be easy to work with, and we also like to be fierce towards the competition like a tiger.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We teach on our website. We like to inform users of how our industry works so they can make an informed decision and feel comfortable about their decision whether they choose SimpleTiger or not.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I will probably try to maintain ownership of it for the rest of my life. After that I may hand it down to another family member or friend.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Time is the most important thing to me because we have so little of it and with a little time you can do some amazing things.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably make it more clean, with more simple user interface, in order to more accurately display like the name of my site implies. :)
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutely. Because our process is so well streamlined we could handle practically any amount of visitors and traffic at any moment.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
A long business cycle can sometimes make things tough. Knowing when a client will pay can sometimes be a mystery.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Absorbing all of the information in this industry as it changes. In search there is always a transition from one technology or focus to another.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO, joint ventures and affiliates. Affiliates have helped me close more sales than anything.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its a lot easier than I was worried it would be. Part of that comes from knowing which CMS to use. WordPress is my favorite.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run the site just over 2 years now and plan to keep it going as long as I can. Who knows, I may sell it someday...
